The Russian invasion of Ukraine has put the cultural heritage of the country in grave danger. The castles, museums, sculptures and paintings that are currently being destroyed represent an irreplaceable legacy that is unique to the region and dates back to the Middle Ages.

Art historian Konstantin Akinsha, currently located in Europe, describes the destruction taking place and the efforts of the European arts community to save these masterpieces.

Presented in partnership with Algonquin Area Public Library, Cook Memorial Public Library, Ela Area Public Library, Fremont Public Library, Highland Park Public Library, Glencoe Public Library, and Vernon Area Public Library.
