Volunteer tax preparers from AARP will be available by appointment in the library to assist community members with their tax return. Appointments required; book beginning January 10.

Volunteer tax services from AARP will be available by appointment in the library to assist community members with their tax return.

This service is free and available to anyone, and is specifically designed for people over 50. AARP will prepare and file the return with the IRS and the state of Illinois.

Appointments required; book in person at the Reference or Readers Services desk or over the phone by calling 847-566-8702 beginning January 10.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Appointments are to drop off tax documents ONLY and will last approximately 15 minutes.
  • Returns will not be done while you are present.
  • You will need to return at a later date to pick up, review, and file your completed return. AARP will book this return appointment during your drop-off appointment.
  • Please print and complete BOTH of the following forms, and bring them to your drop-off appointment:
  • If you cannot print these forms, you can pick them up at Fremont Library at the Readers Services Desk or using our curbside pickup.
  • For each person on the return, bring photo ID, Social Security cards, a copy of last year's return, and all tax documents to the appointment. See a list of documents here.
