Calling all casual viewers and cinephiles! Come talk about excellent movies at Fremont’s new film club, You Had Me at Film Club. Each month, we’ll discuss classic and contemporary films while enjoying sweet treats, provided by the Library. No deep film knowledge required, just a love for good movies and good company. Please join us!
This month’s movie: Roma
Plot: With his eighth and most personal film, Alfonso Cuaron recreated the early 1970s Mexico City of his childhood, narrating a tumultuous period in the life of a middle-class family through the experiences of Cleo, the indigenous domestic worker who keeps the household running. Charged with the care of four small children abandoned by their father, Cleo tends to the family even as her own life is shaken by personal and political upheavals.
Pick up your copy of the DVD at the Help Desk on the first floor! If you would like to watch it on streaming, check Kanopy and chat with one of our librarians to find out which Roku is right for you.
