The Seed Library is now open! Seeds are available to all comers while supplies last. You do not need a library card to borrow from the seed library; just return seeds harvested from your plant at the end of the growing season for other gardeners to use next year.
Many of the seeds come from the Fremont Township community garden and a nonprofit group called Seed Savers Exchange, as well as from area residents.
DONATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED: The library will accept open-pollinated or heirloom seeds (no hybrids, since they don't breed true!) for the second season of the Seed Library. Make sure each seed packet is labeled with who collected it, the year it was collected, and the genus and species or common name, and the variety (if known). Please drop off your donations at the Reader's Service desk on the first floor.
