
Volunteer Openings The following volunteer positions are currently open. Anyone interested, please call Barb at (847) 918-3224 Monday through Thursday. - Youth Services Aide: An adult to assist the Youth Services staff during either the Baby Bounce program or the Funnsies program would be appreciated. Baby Bounce runs for one half hour on Mondays for six weeks, and Funnsies is thirty minutes and runs twice (back to back) each Tuesday for six weeks. Training will be provided.
- Circulation Assistant: An adult is needed to assist the Circulation staff on Wednesday mornings for about two hours. This position does require some standing and walking.
Volunteer FAQ's
How old do I have to be?Adult volunteers must be at least age 18 or have graduated from high school. Teen volunteers must be at least age 12 or going into seventh grade. These folks should contact the Youth Services Department. How many hours a week will the library expect from me?The library asks an average of 2 hours per week.
Volunteers of the Year!Every year Fremont Public Library presents the Mike Steinberg Volunteer of the Year Award to the volunteer (or volunteers) who have given significant service to the library. We present the Volunteer of the Year Award every spring at our Volunteer Appreciation luncheon. This year it was held on April 28th. The plaque containing the names of the recipients is displayed in the lobby of the library. We are grateful to all the men and women who volunteer their time to help us at the library. This benefits not only the library, but also the patrons as well.
