Kindle/USB

USB TRANSFER OF KINDLE BOOKS

  • Go through the normal steps of "Get for Kindle" and when you click "Get Library Book" in Amazon, it will take you to a screen where you'll select the Kindle you want to transfer the book to via USB. Click "Continue."
  • You should be prompted to open or save the file immediately.
  • If you have Windows 7 your "save" prompt may be a menu bar at the bottom of your screen instead of the window shown in the Amazon example.
  • Select SAVE.
  • This will save your title to the "Downloads" folder on your computer.
  • Open the "Downloads" folder on your computer.
  • Connect your Kindle to your computer via the USB cable that came with your Kindle.
  • Copy the file of the book you have downloaded to the "documents" folder of your Kindle. (Click on the icon of your book and drag it to the Kindle documents folder, or right click and select "copy" and then "paste" into the Kindle documents folder.)
  • If you do not copy the book into the "documents" folder, it will NOT show up on your Kindle.
  • This will save your title to the "Downloads" folder on your computer.
