October Books of the Month:

High School: Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry

In a post-apocalyptic world where fences and border patrols guard the people left from the zombies that have overtaken civilization, 15-year-old Benny Imura is finally convinced that he must follow in his older brother’s footsteps and become a bounty hunter.  This is one of the better zombie books—it’s a great combination of zombie action and characters that you really care about.  It’s a quick read.

Grades 5-8: The Death Collector by Justin Richards

Three teens and a curator of artifacts at the British Museum match wits with a madman determined to use unorthodox methods to reanimate the dead, both humans and dinosaurs.  A page-turner, and a creepy blend of horror and mystery.

Coming soon…  TEEN READ WEEK:  It Came from the Library  (October 14-20)

During Teen Read Week, pick up a SCARY BOOK BINGO sheet in the Teen Zone.  Starting on Day 1 of TRW, we will post (here) the names of several titles –check your bingo sheet and see if you have a winner.  More titles will be posted each day until October 20, so keep checking your sheet—if you get BINGO, come into the library for a prize!

We dare you:   SIGN UP FOR THE TEEN HALLOWEEN PARTY ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26, 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.   (For Grades 7 – 12 only).
