Upcoming programs for teens in Grades 7-12: Friday, May 8, 4:00 -5:30 p.m. Games & Pizza Friday, May 15, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Special FIT: Registration for Summer Library Club Volunteering (no pizza) PLEASE NOTE: You must have attended 2 FIT progarms before you can volunteer. This sign-up day does NOT count as one of those programs. If you are not sure if you qualify, please call 847-918-3218. If you are eligible and want to volunteer at our Summer Library Club, bring your calendars and know which dates you are able to come (be sure you have a ride to and from the library). Your job at the Summer Library Club is to help young children sign up and hand out stickers and end-of-club prizes. Shifts range from 2 to 2 1/2 hours; you can volunteer for as many shifts as you like. READ TO THE RHYTHM Teen Summer Library Club Monday, June 8 through Sunday, July 19 Come in weekly for a raffle ticket, complete an activity, and spin our prize wheel for a variety of prizes and coupons. If you come in five weeks out of the six-week Club, you can select a free book. Friday, June 12, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Cupcake Wars! After pizza, we'll provide materials for your team to decorate "Read to the Rhythm" cupcakes that will be judged by a panel of tasters who will award prizes to the winners. All the cupcakes will be put on display for our music-themed Summer Library Club. Friday, June 19, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Artist Christine Thornton describes this program: "Join us for this fun art program and get into the creative groove of abstract painting. I will teach techniques for painting to the rhythm of music using watercolor pencils. No art experience required! You'll leave with a small finished painting." Pizza will be served.
